These images were made with a "Robot" camera, a German-made camera from the 1960's that shoots square frames on 35mm film. The camera is moved by hand from right to left, or bottom to top, while the film is advanced in the opposite direction by means of a somewhat erratic spring-wound motor. The camera's movement forms an arc, describing a narrative transformation of the landscape as well
